On this Mother's Day...
It's my first Mother's Day and I'm touched, honored, blessed and thankful for the gift of motherhood and to have my precious daughter.... to love, to guide and to care for each and everyday. It's the hardest, but best job in the world and I'm so happy to be Maya's mother! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mommy's out there and especially to the greatest mom I know, mine! I love you!

Something to think about...
Happy New Year! I can't believe it either! Time flies by so fast when you're having fun! As the twitter world is becoming more and more of my daily (if you don't already follow us, please do at www.twitter.com/dolldinedesigns and sorry for the lack in blog posts) I came across this recent blog post from one of the Kardashian sisters. The story really got to me and brought tears to my eyes. Read it below, give it some thought, be your best you and live your best life! Cheers to 2012!!!
"There was a blind girl that hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, “If I could see the world, I’d marry you”. One day someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her, “Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn’t expected that. The thought of looking at him for the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left her in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying; “Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.” This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what our life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations. Today before you say an unkind word – Think of someone who cant speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food -Think of someone who has nothing to eat. Before you complain about your husband or wife – Think of someone who’s crying out to GOD for a companion. Today before you complain about life – Think of someone who went too early to heaven. Before you complain about your children – Think of someone who desires children but they are barren. Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn’t clean or sweep – Think of the people who are living in the streets. Before whining about the distance you drive -Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job – Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job. But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one MAKER. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down – put a smile on your face and thank GOD you’re alive!"

We're #1..... Lakers Dessert Table
Today is THE BIG game! And in honor of today, I thought I'd share a dessert table I made for my game 1 Laker party. I served all purple and yellow treats including our household favorite... popcorn and nacho cheese! I even made white sangria with lemons and grapes (although it looked more yellow than white). The sweets were semi-homemade which included cupcakes, cookies, chocolate dipped pretzels and marshmallows. I used the same banner I created from last year with some minor changes and created cute little cupcake toppers. It was a delight! It's going to be a great game tonight.... 2 WORDS.... GO LAKERS!!!

The week in coming
It's going to be a long, fun week! There are many things going on that interests me. First and for most, it's NBA All Star Weekend in Dallas! If you know me and my Lakers (well... do I have to explain any further?) they ROCK and I'm a HUGE fan! Kobe will be playing along with Pau Gasol and the rest of the Western All Stars so it's a game not to be missed. Ohh and I can't wait to see Shannon Brown in the slam dunk contest!
It's also the start of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver with so many events planned all until the 28th. It's going to be exciting to watch Shaun White!!! Lets Go TEAM USA!

Then of course we have the Hallmark Holiday, Valentine's on Sunday. Don't know what my Lovely has planned for us, but this cake looks like something fun to do. i am baker created this great tutorial which she photographs so nicely! She makes it looks so easy to do, but wouldn't it be a cute surprise?
After the weekend, it's Mardi Gras and nothing is better than Fat Tuesday! PARTY TIME! I say that nicely because it's the beginning of lent for us and it means giving up something for 40 days! ekks!

And that's a wrap of what's coming up.. sounds like a lot of fun huh?!? It's going to be nothing but good times! Enjoy the week too!

Happy New Year!
It's 2009! Can you believe how fast time flies when you're having fun? 2008 was definitely a great year and I'm thankful for everything!
I'm thankful for:
*My lovely- I can't express how thankful I am for Nathaniel. He's my other half and without him, I'm incomplete! He makes me happy, keeps me laughing and always smiling!
*My family- being filipino only means you have a HUGE family and that's exactly what I have... 2 grandmas, 2 grandpas, 9 uncles, 10 aunts, 51 cousins, 9 nieces, 8 nephews, 1 brother and a partridge in a pear tree. And I could never forget my wonderful parents for everything they have done for me. I'm the person I am today because of them and I thank you!
*My best gal friends- for their loving support even though we're miles apart. With a friendship of over 15 years, we're practically sisters!
*My homies- For being there after 10 years, moving to SD from the bay not knowing anyone. You stood by when times got tough and are still here with a wonderful friendship!
*Dolldine Designs- to my wonderful clients and the experience I get to share with you in making your special day even greater.
*God- for the many blessings you have given me not only in 2008, but everyday... I thank you!
So cheers to 2009!

Hello, Cupcake!
I received an early Christmas gift and I can't take my hands off it. (Thanks a bunch Debra!) I've been wanting it for the longest time and I finally have a Hello, Cupcake book! It has plenty of inspiration and tons of cute little cupcakes. I fell in love with this book after seeing it on Bakerella, who made the cutest pink pandas and who also inspires me in the kitchen! So as the New Year approaches, I have a goal.... and it's to create some of these wonderful little cupcakes at least once a month!
I told my lovely and of course, I shared with him my interest in having the same sprinkles cabinet pictured in the book... Isn't is beautiful? Well, after doing some research this morning, I found out this beautiful sprinkles cabinet belongs to Karen Tack, one of the brilliant authors herself. Nearly 8 feet tall and 5 feet wide, this is a bakers dream!

A favorite of mine!
Something a little off subject, but I had to share one of my favorite Hawaiian bands, Ekolu! They were in San Diego last week and we were fortunate enough to see them live! They had an AWESOME show.... it was non stop from The Best of Eklou. Preview it for yourself!
