Purple Damask Save the Dates

These 4X9 tea length save the dates were enclosed in a plum, purple pocket and adorned with an amethyst Swarovski crystal.  To complete the look, we designed matching custom stamps for the outer envelope.  Can't wait to show you their invitations and the rest of their paper stationery!

Save the Date Magnet: Pantone Color of the Year 2012

Pantone released it's color of the year and announced Tangerine Tango. This vibrant reddish, orange color just pops and lucky for us, our client is using this color for her upcoming spring wedding. With a touch of Chinese flair, they will be incorporating the double happiness symbol in parts of their wedding which is a cute personalization of the bride.

Save the Date Balloon

Karlee knew she wanted something different and unique for her paperie suite and her save the dates were just that.  She had seen many ideas, but the one she really loved was a balloon.  We designed the ivory metallic balloon to have the contents so when inflated, it would read the special news!

Calendar Save The Date Magnets: Purple Plum and Champagne Gold

These calendar save the dates were a true labor of love and I have to admit, I had quite a bit of help from my lovely. (Thanks, love!) Our dear friend is getting married so when he asked us to create his wedding suite, we agreed and jumped on board! They wanted something different to send their guests, so we created these one of a kind calendars...

I designed mini calendars that can be ripped out as each month passed. To remind guests of the big day, a heart was placed on their wedding date. A magnet was also adhered onto the back so guests can put on a place that's magnetized, most generally the refrigerator.

Stay tuned because there wedding is coming up and I'll soon be posting their invitations and other fun reception paper stationery.

Ballerina Inspired Save the Dates

Ashley was a bride referred from Andrea of A Diamond Celebration and I met both ladies together for the first time. They were both so sweet and prepared! She sent me the inspiration board to the left and after learning more about the couple, they both loved classical music. They wanted to incorporate it somehow and Ashley's love as a ballerina. I found some inspiration pictures myself along with her color palate of pale pinks and ivory to come up with their Save The Dates above. And so their guests can keep it handy, a magnet was placed on the back.

Q&A: Save the Date

I always get asked the etiquette on sending save the dates and here are some answers to your questions:

Do we have to send save the dates? I always like to tell brides and grooms its essentially a great idea to send them out because it gives your guests a "heads up" on your upcoming wedding. Of course, some couples choose not to send them and that's fine as well. I think it's becoming more popular with destination weddings since guests have to make travel arrangements and if you plan to have your wedding near or during a holiday, it helps your guests plan around their busy schedules.

When do we send them? A good rule of thumb is six months prior to your ceremony and eight months for destination weddings. This gives your guests plenty of time to 1. decide if they can attend 2. make travel arrangements if necessary and lastly 3. save a little cash.

What information is needed? I like to keep this simple. Why? Because detailed information should be left for the invitation. It should include the bride and grooms names, your wedding date, your wedding location and if you have a wedding website, the wedding link.

Who do we send them to? Everyone you want to come to the wedding including people you already received confirmation from. This includes your parents, bridal party, etc. And remember, send only to the people you know you want to be there. Once you send it, you're obligated to send them an invitation.
